The first thing to try is the classical removal process. Use the Control panel > Uninstall a program to remove the application. If you fail this way, press CTRL + Shift + ESC to bring up the Task Manager. Switch to Processes tab and end the following processes:

StrongholdAntiMalware.exe*32
StrongholdAntiMalware.exe

then proceed to delete the next files

c:\WINDOWS\system32\iehelper.dll
%ProgramFiles%\StrongholdAntiMalware\conf.cfg
%documents and settings%\all users\applicationdata\Stronghold AntiMalware\mbase.vdb
%windows%\system32\Stronghold AntiMalware\quarantine.vdb
%appdata%\Stronghold AntiMalware\queue.vdb

If you encounter any errors with the installation, run Revo Uninstaller. Even if it can't uninstall the application normally, it will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system.

After that, try running Combofix to force a complete cleaning of your system by accessing hidden keys, kernel processes or any other bad content.
